FIRE AND ASHES changes
Immersive psychological horror Fire and Ashes has unveiled a haunting new trailer alongside its release window announcement. Players can expect a harrowing escape from a nightmarish asylum, a unique microphone-based voice-recognition mechanic, tense melee combat, and a descent into a world where reality slowly crumbles into madness. The game is set to launch in Q3 2026.
Set in 1977, Fire and Ashes follows Henry Grey, who regains consciousness in the bloodstained bathroom of a psychiatric hospital. As the walls of the facility begin to blur the line between reality and nightmare, his only way out lies through deranged patients, grotesque creatures, lingering ghosts of the past—and the darkest corners of his own mind.
One of the game’s standout features is its microphone-driven voice recognition. Every breath, whisper, or scream can alert enemies—or become a weapon in its own right. In a moment of desperation, your voice might stun a foe, blast open a door, or interact with the environment. But sometimes, survival demands absolute silence.
Key features include:
Intense close-quarters combat with a wide range of improvised weapons;
Exploration of grim locations tied to the protagonist’s buried past;
Puzzles and the search for crucial story fragments;
A diverse bestiary, with each enemy type demanding a unique strategy;
A surreal journey where the boundary between sanity and delusion steadily dissolves.
Development is nearing its final stretch, and the team is homing in on the finish line. More reveals—including new gameplay mechanics—are coming very soon.
Add Fire and Ashes to your Steam wishlist and prepare to step into the unknown when the game launches in Q3 2026:
