We're expecting to learn what the FF14 8.0 expansion is called and some of the broad strokes of its plot direction at the upcoming NA Fan Festival in Anaheim, but game director Naoki Yoshida teases that players might be surprised by some of the reveals during his keynote. The upcoming FF14 Fanfest will give our first look at the next expansion, which we expect to arrive in late 2026 if we're lucky, or more likely early 2027. With the showcase preceding the launch of the next story patch, however, 'Yoshi-P' thinks he might catch the audience off guard.
