Farmbotic changes
Howdy Partners!
"Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet," as someone smart once said. Given that, we will all have a sweet treat this summer, just slightly later than expected.
We are moving the early playtest to its final date: August 26th.
Our playtest launch lines up exactly with the kickoff of Gamescom 2026. And that's no coincidence! We will be there in person, so if you are attending, make sure to drop by the Frozen District (our parent company) booth.
We will be in Hall 10.1, Booth A042. Come say howdy and chat with us about robots and automation!
Why the early playtest is moved (again)?
As a small team, we sometimes have to wear multiple hats. The recent launch of House Flipper Remastered Collection required an "all hands on deck" approach across our studio.
We jumped in to help our teammates smooth things out, which unfortunately caused some unexpected delays for Farmbotic.
What we are working on recently
⚠️Before we dive in, please keep in mind that everything you see below is heavily Work In Progress (WIP). These are just quick sneak peeks straight from our developers' desks, so mechanics, models, and overall balance are still very much subject to change!
Preparing the Ground
Right now, we are putting a lot of effort into the mechanics of preparing your land for expansion. We recently overhauled the hit detection system for clearing obstacles on your plot, mining ore deposits, and smashing through rocks that block tunnel paths.
To make the physical work feel more rewarding, we are implementing a system that rewards your accuracy. Direct hits on a target will actually be more efficient than indirect or area-of-effect swings. While the clearing speed in the preview above might look a little overpowered, don't worry, we are actively tweaking the numbers and multipliers to find that perfect, satisfying balance.
Upgrading Your Infrastructure
We also have a fresh update from our art team! Below, you can see the 3D models for one of the buildings: the Constructor.
On the left is the basic Tier 1 version, and on the right is its upgraded Tier 2 counterpart. We want to make sure that as you progress through the game, your farm visually evolves.
Upgraded buildings will not only look more complex and advanced, but - most importantly - they will become significantly more efficient. Planning your space and upgrading your infrastructure will be key to maximizing your automation loops!
How to join the early playtest?
Head over to our main Steam store page and click the green"Request Access"button in the Playtest section, just below the screenshots. And hey, while you're over there, we'd be mighty grateful if you added Farmbotic to your Wishlist!
Farmbotic When the time comes, selected players will receive an email notification directly from Steam.
Remember that this is an early playtest! Not all parts of the game are ready and for now we will focus on single player experience.
