Faeland changes
Player Mechanics and Abilities:
Player Crouch Slide Revision:
Fixed an issue that could prevent hitting the same enemy multiple times with crouch slide kicks.
Reviewed all enemy interactions with the crouch slide. Some enemies may be susceptible to it and trigger a hit animation, others may not react, some may play the hit animation only during certain actions, and others may counter it.
- Player Roll & Backflip tweaksSlightly increased the distance covered for better positioning against enemies. When sprinting, the roll ability now covers slightly more distance.
Player starts a level in the climbing state where intended.
- Player Strong Attack Hits reviewedStrong attacks now push the player slightly further when blocking, with a greatly increased distance traveled when actually hit.
Enemies and AI Behavior:
Severum (Big fish) enemy AI reviewed: Now performs directional thrust bite attacks and has a smoother overall swimming flow.
- Snake enemyReviewed hitbox accuracy, decreased body damage to 0.25 but added poison to its fang attacks.
Wild-boar enemy: Reviewed hitbox accuracy and made its thrust attack stronger.
Yuson boss combat: Reviewed hitbox accuracy; all attacks are now classified as strong attacks.
Tutorials and Guidance:
Added a Tutorial Message after obtaining the Magic Lamp Tool: Shows how the lamp can be used to burn objects.
Added a Tutorial Message after obtaining the Roll Scroll: Shows how you can dodge enemies.
Added breakable containers with arrows next to the first drawbridge: This hints players and allows replenishment of arrows if needed upon arrival.
Environmental Updates and Fixes:
- Forest Underground AreaFixed a soft-lock that could happen when jumping over a pushable box earlier than intended.
Fixed a soft-lock that could occur when swimming against certain water streams near the Ogres' Ruins Entrance.
- Harpoon Launcher in the CatacombsCan now be blocked with the shield even when standing next to it. Added sound effects.
Environment updates:
Witch's hut now has an animated chimney fire and added fire ambient sound effects.
Damerel City and Castle: Animated some previously static background flags and reviewed other elements.
Falling from the balcony in the City Inn Guest Room or the Castle Guest Room now inflicts no damage.
Various collision and art updates.
UI and Menu Fixes:
- Title Screen Option From the Pause Menu RevertedFixed an issue introduced in v0.4.11, allowing to return to the Title Screen from the Pause Menu as intended.
