addedThe PartsUsing your cash, you can purchase new parts from the part shop. These parts come in 4 types - Thrusters, Hull, Shield and Weapons, and installing them offer randomised stat bonuses to your ship depending on their rarity. There are a total of 10 rarities, with the higher ones being more common the higher your player level is, up to level 80.
changedThe PartsShips now cost money to unlock, with the Corvus being the free starter ship. Skins do not cost to unlock - they come with the ship. When switching ships, parts that you have installed are carried over.

The Parts

At the end of each match, you will receive XP and Cash, and if you were victorious, a new part will be offered to you. You will have the option to equip the new part, or keep your old part.

Using your cash, you can purchase new parts from the part shop. These parts come in 4 types - Thrusters, Hull, Shield and Weapons, and installing them offer randomised stat bonuses to your ship depending on their rarity. There are a total of 10 rarities, with the higher ones being more common the higher your player level is, up to level 80.

Speaking of levels, opponents will have similar levels to you and thus have random parts equipped during matches, to keep the game interesting and each contestant unique.

Ships now cost money to unlock, with the Corvus being the free starter ship. Skins do not cost to unlock - they come with the ship. When switching ships, parts that you have installed are carried over.

The UI Overhaul

The Quickplay menu has been changed to make it easier to access all these new features. Rather than going through several steps before entering a match, you are now presented with buttons to each section, meaning you can skip steps that you don't want to change. They also now save their previous setting so that you can easily repeat matches without having to set them over and over.

Stat bars have also been replaced by radial bars for more intuitive viewing.

A result of this however has been the removal of the control scheme selection. This will be returning to the game at a later update, in the options menus.

The Arenas

This update introduces two new arenas: The Rink and Mining Sector 38-B3.

The Rink is a highly visited tourism and mining destination, valued for its icy composition. Enjoy the chilling vistas of orange explosions contrasted against the cold blue ice field.

The mining sector located in galactic sector 38-B3 serves as a staging area for some of the Viytrunian Empire's manufacturing plants. In the distance are several capital-class transport vessels, and the mining facility itself is guarded with large turrets that will shoot on sight. During your battles here, be wary of these turrets as they can swiftly down a ship.

Other changes:

  • There are a total of 10 stats that parts can modify: movement speed, turn rate, boost strength, capacity and recharge rate, total health, shield capacity and recharge rate, damage and mass.

  • Integrated Steam features such as username and avatar.

  • Slightly improved AI behaviour by introducing basic flanking

  • Made police AI less willing to ram you

  • Renamed 'Outrun' to 'Pursuit'

  • Removed 'Marathon' mode

  • Removed 'The Dust Run' arena

  • Introduced new shaders for backgrounds that are more performant and detailed

  • Several performance improvements

  • Progress is saved, as well as a few hidden stats

  • Gamemode selection now shows showcase images in the background

  • Upgraded post processing shaders

  • Many bug fixes
