What changed
- Gameplay
The timeline changed, an artist I liked put down their pen, and things that had vanished came back through AI. A lot happened in a short time.
So I found myself thinking more and more.
What Is Creation?
I thought things people spent time making had value. That felt obvious. Then AI appeared, and that certainty started to shake.
When you can't tell just by looking at the result, does the process matter, or does the result matter? Honestly, I couldn't answer right away.
"좋은 그림"의 기준은 뭘까. 누가 그렸는지가 그 기준에 포함되어야 할까.
Me as a Consumer
I'm not someone who draws. I'm someone who looks. I search for pictures I like and support artists I like.
From a consumer's point of view, AI art is convenient. You can see what you want, as much as you want. You don't have to wait.
But if that convenience threatens someone's livelihood, is it okay to enjoy it while knowing that?
Having No Answer
There is no answer to this. At least not right now.
Technology can't be stopped, creators are hurting, and it is convenient for consumers. All of those things exist at the same time.
Do we have no choice but to live with that difficulty? Or can we at least talk about it together?
That thought kept getting bigger.
