Hello Prisoners!

Welcome to our first Escape By Spoon development Update

It’s been a while since we announced the game, and we wanted to take a moment to give you an update on where things are, what we’ve been working on, and what’s coming next.

We’ve also seen a lot of questions from you since our first trailer, so we thought this would be a good time to talk about some of them.

Game Announcement

We passed this milestone a little while ago, and as you can see, we’ve made some progress on our roadmap since then

A lot of people have asked us :

“Why is the underground colorful while the prison is black and white?”

We can’t reveal too much just yet, but we can tell you that color is a very important part of Escape By Spoon. Steam post image

Gameplay Reveal

After our first trailer went live, we saw a lot of comments along the lines of:

“So... it’s just another digging game?”

And we also saw a lot of people asking when they would finally get to see the actual gameplay. There is much more to Escape By Spoon than just digging, and we can’t wait to show you what else we’ve been working on, we’re currently aiming for a gameplay reveal in october. Steam post image

Playtest

This is where we’re going to need your help.

Making a game is one thing. making a game that is actually fun to play with your friends is another.

Before we release the demo and the full game, we want to get escape by spoon into the hands of players and see what works, what doesn't, and what needs some more work.

That’s why we’re planning to open a playtest for our community.

If you want to help us test the game, find bugs, give feedback, and escape from prison, make sure to join our discord server: Discord

We’re currently aiming to start the playtest in november, so keep an eye out for more information

And now for the question we get asked the most:

“When is the Demo coming?”

And...

“When is the full game coming?”

We know you want an exact date, but unfortunately, we’re not ready to give you one just yet.

There’s still a lot of work ahead of us, and we don't want to rush the game just to hit a date.

Our current goal is to have the Demo ready for the January Steam Next Fest.

But getting the Demo out as quickly as possible isn't our only priority.

We want to make sure that when you finally get to play Escape By Spoon, you’re getting a version that has been properly tested, polished, and is actually fun to play.

So if we need a little more time to get there...
