Over the past month I’ve been working on improving the visual tone and atmosphere of Epoch Extinction.

The goal was to make the world feel less like a clean showcase scene and more like a believable place where something has gone wrong.

This update focuses on environmental polish and visual consistency across the game.

Here are some of the improvements introduced recently:

  • Reworked lighting and tone to create a more grounded atmosphere • Reduced overly bright colors and bloom • Improved shadows and environmental depth • Added surface wear like road cracks, dirt and subtle grime • Increased variation across terrain and props so areas feel less uniform

These changes help the world feel more lived-in and make exploration more immersive.

The screenshots below show some of the recent improvements.
