Hello everyone!

Today we are super excited to share with you that you can join the next Public Test Branch [PTB], as it is loaded with a lot of cool things, and more importantly, with improvements in areas that have been heavily requested by the community.

HIGHLIGHTS

Okay let's get straight to the point as we have looot of things to show you 🔥

New Quest Window

The dialogue display has been a big concern for the community since the beginning of the Early Access and the team has been exploring ways to alleviate the feeling of “too much clicking” and also put the narration with a higher value for players.

After months of work, we are now ready to share it with you!

Now quests will be fully displayed with an initial text to setup the scene with nice art (that will “bring players closer to Saiadha”, as we are adding more art) and then we included an automated system to display the dialogue. This is a huge step in reducing the number of clicks players need to do.

Nevertheless, if you do a simple click, you can skip the full text.

Here an image with the Before/After, so you can compare how it has evolved 👇

Kin of Sheredyn Quest Improvements

The Kin of Sheredyn is the most played faction and has received lot of feedback > Thanks!

The team wanted to rework their main questline after all the feedback and also the rework the faction received in recent updates.

The main areas we wanted to work:

  • Their objectives need to be more in line with their archetype > Builders, instead of just exploration

  • We are adding additional choices in their early game, so players can have a different perspective of the quest

  • We centered the narrative on showing the players more clearly the Kin are a breakaway faction for the United Empire (Endless Space 2). They are estranged, outnumbered on a foreign planet

  • We also worked on the tone of the faction

Lots of changes, but we would like you to try and let us know what you think about all the changes!

Necrophage Quest Improvements

We also received a lot of feedback regarding the Necrophage quest and here are the main changes

  • Rework the tone of the faction > They are dangerous and should inspire fear.

  • We are removing some branches that rarely appear and improving the objectives of the remaining branches. The main goal is to have objectives that are interesting gameplay-wise.

  • We are explaining the relationship with the outsiders a bit more and how the Necrophages “can use them as a tool” for their ultimate objective > Consume the planet

Resources Window Improvements

So happy to share that we are improving the resources panel with a few elements that has been heavily requested by the community

  • Bulk Buy/Sell

  • Auto-renew Booster

  • Auto Sell resources above max stock to the market

Additional elements you should check

Cost of ending a War

We noticed your feedback that the AI tends to not surrender and actually asking you for White Peace and for you to Surrender, even if you are winning the war. The main cause? Because if the AI accepts the surrender, they will enter into a huge bankruptcy and therefore lose.

In order to solve this, we have tweaked the formula for the cost of ending wars. We think the AI should be more willing to accept your surrender demands now.

Please give it a try and share your experience after the change with us

Updating the Victory Condition screen and flow

We are separating your choice of how to win the game from the current narration with the NPC’s. It felt weird to have that narrative driven objective about the planet linked to how you win the game, and it was also a matter of timing as perhaps some of the elements of the narration it made sense later, while the victory condition choice trigger can appear earlier.

Because of this, we are reworking the awakening quest, but this will arrive in a future update.

Now, the “Choose your Victory Conditions” will trigger some turns after the 2nd Tidefall.

Version Number: 0.82.55

🧠 Feedback we are looking for

  • General impressions for the new quest presentation

  • Feedback on the Kin of Sheredyn + Necrophage rework of quests

  • AI feedback when at war. Are they surrendering? Do they keep sending you white peace proposal and asking you for surrender (even when you are winning)
