That's been roughly 2 weeks for a change... It's been quite busy, to say the least, due to both the Video Contest that's just wrapped up, and a especially pesky issue that I spent days investigation and have finally fixed (aka the secret performance degradation that's been plaguing the game for months) - and I will elaborate upon the latter down below. The Contest has been quite a success, fair to say, and has given me tons of feedback, which I applied and addressed throughout all of this update - shoutout to user "Ezel", who was the first player to officially 100% Endless Tactics (currently standing at #1 on the full game's Online Scoreboard)!
CHANGES
Major memory leak fixes.
Major multithreading improvements.
MAJOR MAJOR fix to performance degradation issue: It essentially was a reference buildup generated by allocating CPU Threads for performing a variety of regular tasks (especially related to Enemy AI calculations), and it's been thoroughly and uncontestably squashed for good now (after many attempts, and a lot of investigation).
"Glitchy" text effect improvements.
Upgrades menu UX improvements.
Operation Statistics panel improvements.
Several Dialogue revisions.
Better Pickups UX.
Major balance rework to Upgrades, Items, and Units.
Major improvements/fixes to Controls panel and Input-remapping:
Major rework to Turrets tile-selection, will always (actually) pick the most optimal tile available.
Major improvements for late-game wave scaling (for all RISKS), Operations should get a lot harder now, dare you stay for too long:
New Subsurface Mapping Corrupted Upgrade! Increases the odds (2x) of excavating Epic and Legendary Artifacts! Part of the newly-named Master Corrupted Upgrades, which act as a final reward for having all other Corrupted Upgrades active, in addition to the currency bonus granted by them:
Mission Slots improvements & major Mission/Achievements balance changes:
Plenty of new (mostly accessibility) Options to the Options Menu.
Countless general UX/UI improvements.
Artifact Anomalies balancing changes.
New *secret* (wink) Unit Modifer tier added:
Major balance changes for Weather Events (and their damage scaling as well).
Major balance reworks to Turrets.
Major soft-lock fix for Unit-Drowning mechanic.
Changes to Airdrops and Extract intervals for certain RISKS.
Major cleanup and optimizations, to Multithreading especially.
As stated previously, all features are in! So it's just polish now indeed. I'm still addressing suggestions and feedback as always though, so feel free to give your thoughts down below!
