addedTo celebrate the upcoming launch of our next game, Don't Go into the Woods, here's a big update to Empire. This update adds an option to adjust the encounter rate via the options menu! - This is in response to the main criticism of the game being that it's a bit 'grindy' (which I totally understand and is a very valid point; this is definitely a niche genre. However, for anyone who isn't a fan of this genre, likely most people, this update is for you!) - For existing save files, you may need to go onto the world map in order for the option to work. - This is a new option that allows the player to adjust the encounter rate across the whole game by half or even to no random encounters at all; the option can be turned up or down via the options menu at any time, so you can disable encounters for one specific map giving you trouble if you wish, then turn it back up - Event-based battles will still occur, such as bosses or anything that is triggered via interactions on the map - New methods of gaining experience have been placed around the game to eliminate the need to grind levels (such as items and tearing down propaganda posters in different kingdoms). AP will still require battles though. - This update is meant to help people enjoy the story and characters more (which I believe are Empire's strongest aspects) or for anyone simply frustrated by random encounters - Note that this option is largely untested. Hopefully it implements smoothly (it should as far as I know) but if bugs do occur, let me know and I'll try to fix them! - PS. Also be sure to check out the new trailer for our next game 'Don't Go into the Woods' . The next game isn't an RPG so no worries about random encounters!
