addedCool, but what does it mean for me?There’s now a new co-developer (that’s us!) and a new co-publisher (also us!). Most importantly, this means Emerald Caravan is finally getting completed, and you’ll be able to play it sooner than you might think.
removedWhat will change? And what about AI?We saw that many of you weren’t happy about AI being used in some of the 2D art. We hear you. All AI-generated visual content will be removed and replaced with hand-drawn character art!
changedWhat will change? And what about AI?We’ll also be taking another look at some mechanics and design choices to make the game feel as good to play as possible. The core idea stays the same, but expect small tweaks and improvements here and there. This is still an indie project with a tight budget, but we’re putting a lot of heart into it!
addedAnd what about the demo version?Right now, our focus is on finishing the full game. Once we’re ready to show the improvements and changes, we’ll probably update the demo to better reflect the new direction. Thanks a lot for your patience!

Hello Emerald Caravan fans!

It’s been a while since you last heard about the game and there’s a good reason for that.

At the end of last month, we at Salient Games acquired the IP for Emerald Caravan and took over the project, which had been on hold. The good news? The game is going back into the oven, and this time, it will be finished! We’re aiming to release it later this year, so keep an eye out for more updates soon.

Salient Games? Who are these guys?

We’ve actually been around for quite a while. The studio was founded in 2015 and spent its early years working closely with one main partner.

Since 2024, we’ve been focusing on creating and releasing our own indie games for PC and consoles. We also help smaller indie devs with publishing and marketing so they can bring their games to a wider audience. Altogether, we’ve worked on more than 30 projects. One of the more recent ones is Songs of Rats, a cyberpunk minimalist RPG inspired by classic choose-your-own-adventure books.

In early 2026, we also took over several older projects, IPs, and unfinished games from studios like Jujubee, Strategy Forge, and Space Fox Games - including Emerald Caravan.

Cool, but what does it mean for me?

From your point of view, not much changes, except one very important thing: the game is moving forward again.

There’s now a new co-developer (that’s us!) and a new co-publisher (also us!). Most importantly, this means Emerald Caravan is finally getting completed, and you’ll be able to play it sooner than you might think.

What will change? And what about AI?

We’ve been reading your comments and forum posts, and we want Emerald Caravan to be the game you hoped for.

We saw that many of you weren’t happy about AI being used in some of the 2D art. We hear you. All AI-generated visual content will be removed and replaced with hand-drawn character art!

We’ll also be taking another look at some mechanics and design choices to make the game feel as good to play as possible. The core idea stays the same, but expect small tweaks and improvements here and there. This is still an indie project with a tight budget, but we’re putting a lot of heart into it!

And what about the demo version?

For now, the demo is staying as it is, though that might change later.

Right now, our focus is on finishing the full game. Once we’re ready to show the improvements and changes, we’ll probably update the demo to better reflect the new direction. Thanks a lot for your patience!

That’s it for now! We hope you’ll stick with us and that finishing Emerald Caravan will be a journey we can share together. 💚
