Hello, friends!

First of all, the entire team at the studio wants to extend a massive thank you to everyone who participated in our recent demo or playtest for the Prologue and Chapter 1. We’ve been meticulously reviewing your feedback—from those who loved the atmospheric vibes to those who shared their struggles of getting "stuck".

This update focuses heavily on community-driven refinements. Following our recent playtest, we have prioritized "polishing" the core gameplay experience to ensure that exploration feels fluid and the world of Elixir of Moonglow remains intuitive and immersive for all players.

Enhanced Features

  • Movement & Control OverhaulImproved acceleration and control handling to make exploration feel more responsive and player-friendly.
  • Visual Clarity for InteractionObjects that can be stepped on or interacted with now feature adjusted contrast or variant assets to ensure they remain distinct from the background and foreground.
  • Obstacle & Level Re-layoutAdjusted obstacle positioning in Talla, including moving the second hiding spot further from the cave and lowering the hovering height of the Black Mist for better gameplay and visual language.
  • Hiding ConsistencyFixed an issue where behavior was inconsistent across different types of hiding bushes.
  • UI ReadabilityAdded "Softbox" for cinematic cutscene text to ensure dialogue is more readable.
  • Refined Tutorial GuidanceUpdated the hiding tutorial cutscene with highlight-lines to clearly indicate valid hiding spots (bushes).
  • Immersive Gamepad UI: Redesigned gamepad hint UI elements to better integrate with the game's aesthetic.

  • Hint Active StatesFixed the active state display for "Crouch/Up" hints to accurately reflect current player input.
  • State IndicatorsResolved missing visual markers/effects when the protagonist, Ella, enters an "uncontrolled state" (e.g., during chase sequences).
  • Enhanced Cutscene Audio: Implemented additional SFX across various cinematic sequences and environmental transitions for deeper immersion.

  • Vegetation Idle EffectsAdded wind-sway animations to environmental vegetation to create a more living, breathing world.

This build represents our commitment to "Game Polishing"—taking the solid foundation we have and smoothing out the friction points to make the journey through Moonglow as seamless as possible.
