New Languages!

Though this update doesn't bring any major changes to the flow of the demo itself, it does add 2 languages and 2 variants for one of them!

  • Spanish (Spain)

  • Spanish (Latin America)

  • Brazilian Portuguese

Furthermore, I look forward to working with the same localizers (which you can go check out in the credits!) for the release of the game! 😄🐘

There's also a small secret localization feature to go along with the new languages. But I'll let everyone find out what that is for themselves! 🤭

Gameplay and QoL Changes

  • Bring it over from the release version, you can now use the shovel to break down blocks! It's not necessary as you can still get rid of blocks the same way as before. But it's fun! And can sometimes be faster when you have a lot to get rid of. It's a bit of a QoL improvement in one way.

  • There have been some changes to how sand blocks get stacked, making it generally easier to place them without needing to be overly precise. It does affect the feel a bit, but overall I believe it to be an improvement!

  • Added smaller jumps in values for the chromatic aberration. It also starts out lower to make it less pronounced for when players play for the first time.

Bug Fixes

  • Previously thought to have been working and now should be work: It's now also possible to click Elfie's thought bubble to start the dialogue.

  • Stuttering issues: Shaders are now precompiled and the materials are loaded when the game starts. These changes should minimize the stuttering that some players encountered when playing for the first time.

  • Weird block placement glitchThis should be fixed, hopefully. (Please let me know if you encounter it though. 🥲 )
  • AMD Issues: There were some difficulties in building a version that worked with Direct X 12. Other Godot developers have run into similar problems.

    • When using an AMD video card, make sure your are update to the latest driver. Adrenalin Edition 25.9.2 should fix the rendering issue previous versions had with Vulkan. If you are on driver 25.9.2 or later and you still experience this issue, please let me know!

Misc.

  • Updates and fixes to the credits.

  • Some changes to some of the texts French and English.

  • Added the changing room sprites as a teaser for that release feature!

Also... Steam Next Fest!!

This is the first time I'm participating in the Steam Next Fest! I don't really know what to expect but it's exciting considering you can only do it once per game. Please consider sharing the demo with people you know and also have fun trying out other games too! I want to encourage everyone to play more indie games in general!😊

I haven't decided on a specific time yet, but I'm considering doing a livestream to talk about the game at some point during the event.
