changedHello Builders! 👋As we’ve already mentioned in the previous devlogs, the climate changes throughout your El Dorado gameplay will be one of the determining factors altering your gameplay. Our goal was to make you experience the power of the ancient Yucatan Peninsula’s nature. ⛈️ That’s especially true for the rain season.
addedThis time of the year is not kind and you’ll experience it on different levels while taking care of your citizens or structures. 😥 Every year for a few months the entire world drowns in the neverending rain. The ground soaks wet, creating massive swampy puddles and the buildings leak and fall apart making your subjects homeless with no place to hide from the omnipresent humidity. To become a worthy leader 👑 to the ancient city, you’ll have to face and overcome these environmental struggles. The solution is simple but requires some careful planning. Stone squares were one of them. These platforms not only add some magnificence to the looks of the buildings but also save the houses from flooding. This feature will undoubtedly make building your cities more interesting and unique. 🤩 You might also want to invest in some stone roads connecting your buildings together. This will help your people work and maneuver through the puddles of mud.

Most of the trading and fights will be suspended and many preparations for the dry season need to be completed. We’ve already told you about the Chultuns- the tanks carved in stone in which you’ll need to collect water and ensure your citizens don’t face drought. ☀️
