Haesu slumped over the table, her forehead pressed against its surface, a quiet note of despair in her voice. Max regarded her with something between irritation and pity before letting out a heavy sigh.
“What now?”
“I don’t know what to do for Dallae’s birthday.”
Haesu pressed on despite Max’s utterly emotionless tone. Max glanced down at her senior, already exhausted by the conversation.
“Why don’t you just ask her what she wants?”
“I already did. She said not to get her anything.”
