FPS Gameplay Overhaul & Immersion Improvements
Hey Operators!
We’re thrilled to share our latest update focused entirely on enhancing your FPS gameplay experience! From realistic gun handling and immersive camera effects to dynamic audio improvements, we've got a lot to cover. Let’s dive into the key highlights:
FPS Gameplay
We've worked hard on improving the general FPS gameplay, how guns are handled, and even smaller details like movement and foley SFX. We've recorded a before-and-after showcase, highlighting improvements such as realistic upper body movement during walking and running, dynamic idle states, and newly introduced lowready and highready stances. Highready helps prevent weapon obstruction (especially with long rifles) in close-quarters environments, while lowready slightly increases movement speed while keeping your weapon ready. We've refined our motion-captured animations, adding manual adjustments, procedural limb physics, and subtle micro-animations, such as the MP5’s charging handle. Foley SFX for reloads enhance realism, and leaning around corners is now smoother. Customization has proper audio feedback for individual attachments, with further improvements coming soon.

Refined motion-captured animations with procedural physics
Micro-animations for weapon parts
Improved leaning mechanics
Attachment-specific audio feedback
Dynamic Aim Offset and Improved Optics
This improvement introduces dynamic aim offsets, automatically adjusting camera views in ADS when switching between iron sights and scopes. A slight weapon sway enhances realism during ADS. Scope sight pictures have also been improved, and previous performance issues with magnified optics have now been resolved.

Dynamic 3D Audio Zones
To enhance immersion, we’ve introduced dynamic 3D audio zones for both outdoor and various indoor environments such as hangars, warehouses, houses, and bunkers, each with thematic ambient SFX. Zones smoothly transition between audio tracks with gentle fades. Additionally, flat projected audio zones cover large water bodies like oceans, increasing wave sounds as you approach the coast and fading out as you move away. Weather effects are also restricted from indoor areas—no more rain or snow inside buildings! Improvements to our footstep audio system are underway and will be featured in future updates.

Loot Interaction Animations & SFX
Looting now feels more immersive, thanks to animated props complemented by dedicated sound effects.

Muzzle Flash Shadows
We’ve replaced our previous muzzle flash placeholder with a new VFX. In dark environments or nighttime scenarios, muzzle flashes now cast dynamic shadows. We've significantly reduced and fine-tuned distortion effects, making precise aiming easier, particularly during burst and full-auto fire modes.

Vaulting, Climbing & Sliding
Players now have many more traversal options, including vaulting barriers, climbing taller obstacles, and sliding under certain objects while sprinting. We're actively experimenting with further movement improvements and will likely showcase additional mechanics, such as rope climbing, soon.

Weapon Sway
Weapon sway has been refined to reflect the weight of each weapon, enhancing gun handling and realism, and emphasizing slower, more tactical movements rather than rushing enemy positions.

Weather FX
New camera effects have been introduced for weather conditions and environmental interactions. During winter, frost accumulates on the camera lens and melts as spring arrives, while raindrops appear on the lens during rainfall. Additionally, diving and resurfacing cause water runoff effects on the camera lens—players will need a moment for vision to normalize, so caution is advised when surfacing near enemy patrols.

Additional Improvements & Sneak Peek
We're continually expanding the Echoes Below arsenal—check out the GIF below for a sneak peek at some of the current weapon options. Even more will follow soon! Alongside these updates, we've refined other aspects of our sound design, including ambient sounds and interactive audio. The UI redesign has greatly improved and will be finalized shortly. Stay tuned —our next update will delve deeper into factions, lore, and additional exciting enhancements. Thanks for your ongoing support! Let us know your feedback in the comments!
