Hello again, Easy Red 2 army!
It's that time of year again—the time of year where we share our newest roadmap, laying out the planned path ahead for Easy Red 2 from late 2025 to mid-late 2026.
As you know, this year we practically re-made most of the game to be bigger and better than ever, and unfortunately because of that we missed out on Southern Tunisia this go-around. Don't worry, it's still coming!
As always, going into 2026 we're looking to make the game even bigger and even better than ever!
New roadmap:
Starting from today, here's what we plan to work on!
✨ Major Planned New Features ✨
South Tunisia: Mareth Line and Kasserine Pass
1944/45 Hungarian DLC: Siege of Budapest and Operation Spring Awakening
We are considering other free additional maps for some time in 2026, including the Battle of Iwo Jima and Battles of Khalkhin Gol.
Deployable MGs onto carried tripods and deployable portable mortars (such as Japanese knee mortar)
Reconstruct broken sandbags and other defensive props
New Eastern Europe buildings coming to Stalingrad DLC
New vehicles and weapons for base game
Major reworks on many old vehicles and weapons
Multi-charge artillery system for modular artillery range and trajectory
New patch/insignia system for more accurate iconography on uniforms
Automatic cinematic camera system for nice shots and battle spectating
Infrared night vision technology for Panther and other sights
🔧 Major Planned Improvements 🔧
More map editor quality features to simplify prop placing, finding, and automatized behaviors.
Possibility to switch between scope and sights without removing scopes (where accurate)
Continuing adding and upgrading weapons, vehicles, sounds and animations
🌍 Upcoming Campaigns 🌍
Hungary Campaign
Early 2026, Mid 2026
We are finally ready to announce the next DLC!
Our goal with this expansion is to bring new factions, many new weapons, and above all, a lineup of late-war vehicles to play on one of the bloodiest battles that Europe has ever seen!
The Battle for Hungary offers a great, unique setting for this criteria.
It features two factions totally new to Easy Red: Hungary alongside Germany, and Romania alongside the Soviet Union (after switching sides in 1944).
It also potentially includes a wide variety of authentic unique weapons such as the Mannlicher rifles, Mauser VZ.24, Danuvia submachine guns, Steyr-Solothurn MG30, PPS-42/43 and much more.
You’ll also see powerful late-war vehicles like the late war Panther variants, Tiger II, Zrínyi II, late war T-34 and T34/85, IS-2 and more — including rare wartime technology such as infrared night vision on Panther tanks, one of the most advanced innovations of the era. Here's a WIP photo of the Panther rework currently underway, along with the night vision system!
One Of Europe's Bloodiest City Battles
The DLC will include key operations such as the Siege of Budapest, Operation Konrad, and Operation Spring Awakening, offering a mix of rural, urban, and suburban combat during the final months of the war in Europe.
Operation Spring Awakening is known as the last major offensive launched by the Third Reich during World War II, a final effort by German forces to halt the Soviet advance through Hungary.
