What’s New

Larger Map Sizes (Beta)

When creating a new city you can select 100%, 200%, and 400% map size to increase the buildable area. 200% and 400% will utilize more system resources and be less performant. Not all Mod Landscapes may be compatible with the new map sizes.

The next ModKit release (imminent) will include the ability to mark your landscapes as compatible with the larger map sizes.

Press F to Center Camera

Some tools will now allow you to press F to center the camera on the currently highlighted building or prop’s grid position.

Minor Changes

  • Decreased probability of B-Sides DLC content to spawn when Random district is selected to be equal with other districts

  • Unity Animation Rigging package support added for Mods

  • Decreased the size of Control Tips in lower left (slightly)

  • Added limits to UI scaling on some screens at lower resolutions (i.e. Steamdeck) to prevent overlapping or unfunctional UI.

  • When Creating a City, if you activate a mod that contains a custom landscape the Landscape selector will now automatically select that landscape, or the first landscape available in the mod.

  • Some volumetric light systems that use city density will now evaluate more quickly to adjust to changes via the Light Brush or the Density Brush.

  • Added some under-the-hood features in preparation for the next ModKit release

Bug fixes

  • Fixed potential errors during game shutdown and added additional logging to help identify issues if the game is unable to close

  • Fixed some signage that was unintentionally dimmed by the B-Sides DLC

  • Fixed a bug where deleting billboards on buildings would not restore the billboard properly when Undo was used

  • Fixed a bug where cloned props would disappear until moused over again

  • Fixed a bug where some Rustport buildings would spawn floating light objects.

  • Fixed a bug where crane cables would spawn in the wrong locations when loading from save file.
