Release Notes
New DLC: B-Sides
v1.7.0 coincides with the release of the new B-Sides DLC: a small content expansion for Dystopika.
Like the B-sides of a record, this DLC contains unreleased experiments and concepts that were previously cut at the sketchbook and concept art phase which have now been fully realized as props and districts.
This DLC is optional bonus content for our most enthusiastic city-builders, new and old.
Dystopika Updates (v1.7.0)
New Tool: Density Brush
One of the most requested features makes its way into v1.7. This is the Density Brush, allowing you to paint up or paint down the smaller procedural buildings. Buildings are still selected based on the Districts of nearby buildings, but now you can amplify or erase the specific effects if you want to create more texture in your low-lying density or you want to work more finely around other city details.
New Tool: "Nothing" Cursor
That’s right, a tool that does nothing! Admire and navigate your city without those pesky building previews. The cursor tool can be found next to the Destroy tool in the toolbar.
New Prop: Hologram Wall Emitter
The new Hologram Wall emitter allows placement on walls and angled surfaces for more versatile placement of holograms. Hologram pictured is from the B-Sides DLC.
New Language: Belarusian
Thank you to nonnegative13 from our Discord Community for the translation.
Quality of Life Improvements
Airship props now have a Camera button in their Advanced Prop settings panel that will flip to a first person view of the airship’s flight.
Airship direction can now be reversed
District Selection menu is now sorted by groups rather than load order: Districts, Megastructures, and then Utilities.
Prop and District selectors now have a small icon to indicate if it’s from an owned DLC
Added an Owned DLC in the Settings menu so you can track which DLCs are present and activated.
Added two advanced console commands:
[c]setting-renderscale[/c] for manually setting the render scale beyond the range in the settings. This may crash the game if you don’t know what you are doing
[c]setting-srpbatcher[/c] toggles the dynamic draw call batching system, which may improve performance in specific hardware scenarios
Minor Visual Changes
Moving Buildings now has a small interpolation that scales based on the relative weight of the building, creating a more tactile feel when moving buildings.
This effect can be disabled in the Settings under “ Smooth Drag ”
Air Traffic Density now more accurately reflects the relative city density on screen
Adjusted emissive properties of some materials
Adjusted dissolve effect timing to be slightly slower for better game feel.
Minor changes to the dissolve effect necessary to support the new Scaffolding district
Flatten Highest and Flatten Lowest buttons are now represented with iconography.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where the prop to place would change unexpectedly
