Developer Notes
Update 1.2 is here: introducing new missions, cinematic content, and major gameplay improvements.
This update expands Dying Breed with six new missions across both campaigns, each featuring new cinematic sequences, alongside performance optimizations and quality-of-life upgrades across the game.
We’ve also continued refining core systems such as unit control, UI clarity, and resource management to improve overall responsiveness and gameplay flow.

Fixes & Improvements
Minimap icons – Updated icons for underground entrances on the minimap.
WWA 6.1 intro video – Fixed a small inconsistency with the mission intro video.
Pathfinding optimization – Reduced resource consumption of the pathfinding system.
Shipyard crater – Fixed an issue where the Shipyard created a dirt crater on water when destroyed.
Unit selection near buildings – Improved selection accuracy for units positioned close to buildings.
Features & Changes
Batch training shortcut – Added a shortcut to queue 5 units (Ctrl + Click).
Civilian building variants – Added new visual variants for civilian buildings.
Construction audio – Added sound effects when units are produced from buildings.
Cursor improvements – Improved several in-game cursors.
Dead whales behavior – Dead whales now deal self-damage when attacking, similar to Torso Man.
Exit confirmation – Added a confirmation prompt when exiting a mission to prevent accidental quits.
Midas tank audio – Updated sound effects for the Midas tank.
New civilian buildings – Added new civilian structures such as a cinema, market, and gas station.
New map tiles – Added new decoration map tiles and visual variations.
Pause menu layout – Updated the button order in the pause menu.
Pixel-art cover art – Introduced new pixel-art mission covers with a more consistent visual style.
Repair speed – Vehicle repair speed has been doubled.
Text readability – Improved text clarity across menus.
