Since we released the very first demo of Dust&Courage: Jake Bolton's Journey, we’ve heard three big, recurring requests from you:
WASD movement
Auto-attack
And of course, gamepad support
We’ve been all ears from day one and doing our best to bring these features to life alongside you. After a bit of gentle pressure (and maybe annoying our dev just enough times), one day he finally snapped, in the best way possible. He paused everything and went off to build a whole new system.
The result? You can now move with WASD and enable auto-attack, no more relying solely on the mouse!
To try these new features out, just update to the latest version of the game and head over to the Settings menu. We’ve made sure you can toggle them on or off however you like, so if you prefer the old-school controls, that’s totally cool too.
Now, let’s talk gamepad support.
This one means a lot, not just to you, but to us as well. We’ve always known how important it is for everyone to be able to play the game comfortably, and folks using a Steam Deck. But truth be told, making this happen earlier would’ve pushed our full release back by at least two months.
So… we asked our dev again. And again. And again. We may have been banned from Discord a few times in the process. But then one day, something changed. A message struck a chord, and just like that, he rolled up his sleeves and got to work on full gamepad support.
Yes, really. The “impossible” feature is now in development!
While we’re moving fast, we can’t give an exact release date just yet. But rest assured, it’s coming very soon.
If you’ve read this far… hey there! Hope you’re having a great week. Thanks so much for all your support, feedback, and patience. We’re beyond grateful ❤️
With love, The Storyforge Team
