About the game

Dusky Depths is a rogue-lite twin stick shooter set on a mysterious and treacherous planet. Take control of your ship and defend yourself against an onslaught of ancient drones and bizarre organisms. How long can you hold out?

Your only hope of escaping your eventual demise is to restore and activate the warp gates left behind by an ancient civilization. Where will they lead you? There is only one way to find out..

Scavange for rare loot, upgrade your ship, and unlock ancient mechanisms to escape this strange and hostile place – alone or together with friends.

What is the Dusky Depths Public Playtest?

It is a time-limited event during which we will provide an early version of the game for free! The purpose of this Playtest is to uncover potential performance/compatibility/stability issues as well as to gather feedback from players regarding the gameplay.

Who can participate?

Anyone!

When will it start/end?

Start

December 8th, 4:00pm UTC (17:00 CET / 8:00am PST / Dec 9th 1:00 JST)

End

December 15th, 4:00pm UTC (17:00 CET / 8:00am PST / Dec 12th 1:00 JST) * Schedule subject to change.

How will this version of the game differ from the final game?

This version of the game will be provided for testing purposes, which is why we have limited its contents:

  • Singleplayer Expedition only

  • Map generation limited to 2 predetermined randomization seeds

  • 2 sectors explorable per run

  • 3 ship loadout presets

  • Limited amount of items, exact amount is subject to change

Will progress be carried over to the full game?

No progress will be carried over.
