Whether you’re new to the game or just want a refresher, we hope this makes jumping into co-op smoother and more approachable!
added#2: Battle Card NavigationWe’ve added a small indicator above the cards during battle to show which keys can be used to cycle through cards and play them. This should make navigating your hand feel clearer and more intuitive during combat. This works for the keyboard, PS and Xbox controllers!

This Closed Playtest Update will include:

  • A brand new Tutorial!

  • UI For Card Navigation & Selection in Battle

  • Slight Bondbreaker Mode changes

  • Updated Card Designs

#1: First up let’s take you through our new Tutorial!

New players can now access a Tutorial from the main menu! This short demo walks “Pal-adins” through how combat works in Duo Quest and covers the core mechanics of battle. Whether you’re new to the game or just want a refresher, we hope this makes jumping into co-op smoother and more approachable!

#2: Battle Card Navigation

We’ve added a small indicator above the cards during battle to show which keys can be used to cycle through cards and play them. This should make navigating your hand feel clearer and more intuitive during combat. This works for the keyboard, PS and Xbox controllers!

#3: Bondbreaker Mode “Cleanse” removed

We’ve seen many comments of players’ getting frustrated with all the debuffs being erased when the enemies go into Bondbreaker! We hear you!

Enemies will now retain all debuffs when entering Bondbreaker. So go ahead and live out your pyromancer dreams (we know some of you are enjoying fire a little too much 🔥).

#4: Updated Card Designs

We’ve given the cards a visual refresh to help differentiate them more clearly and add a bit more life overall. We’d love to hear what you think — especially around readability and clarity during combat.

Potential Bugs with this Update

Because this update introduces several mechanical changes, there may be issues with save files if your last save was in the middle of a battle or map scene. If this happens, you can either:

  • Start a new run, or

  • Allow yourself to lose in the map to retain your overall progress

Sorry about this — we’re actively working on a fix!!!

Once again, thank you so much for playing and supporting Duo Quest. We hope you enjoy this update, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
