How to use customized portait: Go to Game folder, for mine is "Steam-steamapp-scommon-DODK-Content-CustomizedPortaits" to put your pictures, just remember the game only accepts "jpg" or "png" files.
And you must have noticed the words floating through the screen. They are bulletscreens shot by previous players, not live chat.
