Dungeon Clicker changes
Launch in Early Access is near, so firstly, I want to explain some game mechanics.
When you play the game for the first time, you will only have one hero. The Gunner is the unique character that will not attack by himself to enemies -unleast, without the talent activated-. You must click in the first minutes of the game if you want to kill enemies. That's fine right? Like any other clicker game. Killed enemies will drop gold, which is used for upgrading heroes. But be careful, enemies will attack your heroes, but, if there are no heroes alive, enemies will attack your chest, stealing your gold, based on their damage, with every hit. That hurts!
With every upgrade Hero will obtain more damage. When leveling up, hero will obtain additional health, life regeneration and armor. Every 2 levels, or better said, every even level you will gain one talent point. These talents points are used for upgrading the character and obtaining powers and benefits like new active and passive skills or more damage, for example.
Every character has an ultimate active skill, which is the last to select in the talents before ascending the hero. This active ability has massive damage and could be used, for example, for helping you to kill a boss with a large amount of life, but has a cooldown, which can be longer depending on the skill. Once the cooldown is over, you can use again the ability. There is no resource or mana needed to use your abilities. It´s cooldown based.
For ascending every character you will need at least one talent point and some other resources: gems. Each hero has it own requierements for ascending. For example, ascending The Gunner will require one talent point and 5 red gems, 5 blue gems and 5 green gems. Once you have paid the requierements the game will let you to choose your first Pet.
Nice. And what can do pets? Pets give the character a special ability or stat depending on the pet you select. For example, selecting the bat will give the character a 10% critical chance while selecting the fairy will give the hero 100% more health. Selecting one pet cannot be undone, so be careful when choosing. By now, there are 4 pets for every character and maybe more coming in the future. Once the companion have been selected, the ascension panel unlocks.
Okay, we have talked about gems, but are they only used for ascending the characters? Gems are mainly used for the ascension system, where you can upgrade passive skills or empower existing abilities. All of these gems have a different use: Ruby gem improve main damage while Emerald improve health quantity of characters. As you can imagine, ascension system improves all basic stats which are the most important, but also improves ultimates and passive abilities, turning your heroes more powerful.
Upgrading a Ascended ability will cost 1 gem per 0.1% in most cases to a maximum of 1000%. This means you can improve the damage of your hero in 1000% but also you will need tons of gems. Where can I find these gems? Well, that´s a good question. Let´s talk about the Dungeons.
Dungeons are an adventuring area with a specific number of waves. Inside this dungeons enemies are Elite or Elite+ and they are harder than regular waves, exponentially increasing life and damage done to heroes.
[/center] Rewards are also higher. Gold drop is increased and additionally, depending on the dungeons, enemies will drop gems. But before an enemy can drop a gem, they must be upgraded. Every type of gem has a drop system. If you want enemies to drop a gem, you must improve the drop of that gem. How can I do that? Answer is simple: Scrolls. This new currency are used for upgrading gems. So as you could guess, for obtaining a gem, first you need to obtain these scrolls. They are dropped in Dungeons just killing enemies. All of this can sound a bit conffusing, let´s see an example:
You want to improve damage in the ascension system, and as you can see in the Gems Upgrade panel, drop is 0%. Let´s upgrade this number. You need 10 Scrolls for every 0.1% of drop fot that gem. Going inside a Dungeon with Red Scrolls drop will give you that resource just killing enemies. Once you have enough scrolls, upgrade the Ruby in the Gems Upgrade, and go inside a Dungeon with Ruby drop. The upgrade percent of the Ruby is the chance to drop a gem when killing an enemy. If you need more gems just need to repeat this process. Easy, right?
Keep in mind, that before entering in a Dungeon, you will need a key. Keys are single use, so you will need a key every time you want to enter in a new Dungeon. Don´t worry, the keys drops randomly in normal waves.
What´s coming in the future?
Although the forecast is subject to changes and I could add more content, everything included in this roadmap will be in the final version of the game.
In the Next Development Update I will explain what Artifacts are, Seasonal Dungeons and more. Hope you liked this update.
Thanks for reading!
