Drywall Eating Simulator changes
Hi everyone! We're releasing a patch that should hopefully fix the majority of issues people have been reporting. We want to thank everyone for their patience with us as we worked through and tested things. We're a small team and releasing in a very busy part of the year, so we didn't release as bug free as we would have hoped, but we're happy that many of you still enjoyed the game.
Unless there's a major issue that we missed, we're likely not doing another patch until the new year. We took some extra time to try and get as many issues as possible from what people had been reporting, prioritizing soft locks and blockers. We are going to be continuing monitoring issues and probably releasing 1-2 more patches in January to clean things up.
We want to again thank everyone that has supported us and helped us with the release of this game! We're so glad people enjoyed this weird janky little thing and we hope to come back sometime in the future with more games! ːsteamhappyː
General Fixes
Quest/Save Data overhaul: There was a major conflict between how the quest system and the save system were interacting with one another, which now has been fixed. This should correct the grand majority of the various softlocks and progression blockers people were experiencing.
This is compatible with people's save files, the overhaul should also repair saves as best as it is able to. On loading a game, entering in a level will enact save file repairs for that level.
There may be certain cases in which the system will not be able to resolve corrupted quest data, in which case it will reset progress to the start of that quest. (You'll be able to complete it as though you just activated it.)
Fixed a few areas that let the player fall through the map.
Fixed characters from not showing up or disappearing correctly based on level progress.
Fixed framerate cap some users were experiencing, also added VSync toggle to the options menu which should help further.
Fixed anger VFX that was not showing up before. Also added an Anger VFX toggle that can enable/disable the anger VFX effects since it is a bit more intense now.
Fixed audio settings not being saved.
Level Fixes
- ApartmentsFixed dialogue issues with some characters.
- ApartmentsFixed apartment quest from triggering again if player already has it or has completed it.
- HardwareFixed some softlocks that could happen with the Stockroom quest. Also made it slightly easier to get out of there.
- OfficeFixed a couple colliders not stopping the player correctly.
- OfficeFixed (?) the wall behind the Tired Boss from not glowing when the player would get angry once they completed all coffee quests.
- OfficeFixed The Big Presentation dialogue from going out of order.
Art Gala: Did a bit of balancing with how angry you get at the guests.
