Monumental Collab here. Happy to meet you all yet again! After all, how could we miss a chance to thank you for your patience and support.

Due to the nature of Drowned Lake, most of the new stuff that we are working on right now is classified. However, we can share some insights and out-of-context teasers with you. Consider it a small token of appreciation from us.

Looking back at Drowned Lake’s development, it’s hard to believe it all started as a small prototype during the GMTK game jam. Although the prototype was just a slice of the lake featuring a choice-and-consequence fishing mechanic, we were overwhelmed with positive comments from you all!

And then, little by little, our experiment started to grow and expand. It’s no secret that Drowned Lake is tightly connected to our previous game, TELEFORUM, and could perhaps even be considered a spin-off of sorts. But this time we’re going even further and even deeper with more found footage, more analogue horror and more anxiety.

We have been working on this expanded version of Drowned Lake, featuring survival horror mechanics that pay homage to classic elements such as inventory management, while introducing new camera perspectives and character points of view, along with choices that directly impact survival during gameplay.

Currently we are nearing the finish line and our primary focus is towards QA and testing. We are polishing, bug fixing, reviewing events, encounters and different areas; building on what’s already in the game and refining it.

Your feedback for the playtest was beyond loved and recognized. Rest assured, we’re using this data to make the game experience even more oppressive and disturbing. Please wait for the full game’s launch, it won’t disappoint.
