Drown World changes
Visual Polish
Refreshed landmass artwork across the game.
All upgrades now have unique icons, making them easier to identify at a glance.
The drill now visually upgrades as it becomes more powerful, matching the new upgrade progression.
Added proper visuals for diagonal drilling.
Jetpack exhaust effects now better reflect your movement speed and direction.
Added a new button selection animation throughout the UI.
Fuel Rework
Running out of fuel no longer causes an instant game over. Instead, players will rapidly lose health until they can return to the Airship and refuel. The old system was often confusing and unforgiving, while the new one better communicates what went wrong and gives players a chance to recover.
Added an out-of-fuel warning that directs players to refuel at the Airship.
Fixed an issue where fuel could be depleted while on the main menu.
Quality of Life
Added corner forgiveness to make tunnelling more precise and reduce accidental block destruction. Previously, players returning to the surface could accidentally clip the edge of a block and break it, often causing unwanted flooding or damage to their tunnel. Corners are now more forgiving, allowing players to brush past them without accidentally mining blocks.
Skills & Upgrades
- New Dwarven TechFirst Aid. A new skill tree focused on restoring health.
Upgrade names have been simplified to make them easier to understand at a glance.
Dash has been reworked: Tier 1 now destroys any block, including resources, while Tier 2 can break through up to 2 blocks.
Airship Crusher's unlock cost has been reduced, making it a more attractive early investment.
Improved Tutorialisation
Added new visual prompts to help players understand that multiple resources can be carried before returning to the Airship.
Early-game guidance has been improved to better direct new players towards digging underground.
TNT is now introduced later, making the core digging mechanics easier to learn and understand.
Tutorial hints have been updated with larger, clearer button prompts.
Important hint prompts now pulse to make them easier to spot.
Tutorial hints now display the correct mouse and keyboard controls when playing with mouse and keyboard.
Hazards & Elements
Flammable Gas can now be found in Level 3.
Reduced damage taken from airborne Flammable Gas.
Quicksand is now significantly more dangerous and will pull players down faster.
Updated the Lava description to better reflect its behaviour and danger level.
