What's New?
Welcome to Drift.Wav 1.9.5. This update is meant to get this project a tad more modernized while still keeping it classic DW. As my main focus is centered towards developing DW II. I wanted to make sure to get this project updated considering development for DW II is taking longer than expected due to scope and wanting to make sure it's 100% polished and ready to go on release.
This update is still in progress and will get several more patches over the next coming weeks.
So any feedback feel free to leave on steam forums, this post or our discord!
That being said these are some of the new things that have been changed / added to the current DW! Please note that this was an entire re-write of this project in about 2 weeks & there still might be some issues. Any bugs or problems can be fixed & patched. Just join the discord or leave a message on the steam forums and I will get to it as fast as I can.
New Physics
Car's now have a center of mass system and updated physics creating body roll when moving and slightly improving the look and feel of when cars are moving.
Updated Air Control physics ( still in progress ). Air control is now alot more sensitive.
Pressing Q or E will now rotate the car to get unstuck in either direction.
Score is now built by drifting and getting speed & angle vs distance.
All distance scores that I can prove to be legit go into a static "hall of fame" list on the leaderboard panel.
Multiplayer body roll sync issues now fixed.
UI Overhaul
UI got a complete overhaul from menu UI to in-game UI.
In game now show's your personal high-score / best drift score.
Pressing L will now show all leaderboards.
UI Glitch effect slider now in settings
Leaderboard & Security
Updated the project to use recent versions of unity 6 for security issues.
Now using steam leaderboards.
Other Changes
Added FPS slider to better control FPS.
Controller motor feedback on collision.
Fixed Pixel filter option in settings.
Fixed VHS effect option in settings.
Added settings menu in pause menu while in game.
Re-worked pause menu layout and options.
New Main menu environment.
Post processing updates.
Reflective probe updates.
Graphic tier option updates.
Should now make a more visible difference using the lowest vs the highest.
Reward system rework for close calls and hitting traffic.
