addedOtherwise, we've been adding loads more content to the game and refining a lot of the UI. We want the UI to be playful as well as functional, and one of the things that was sorely in need of rework was the fabric inventory. The fabric preview more accurately shows highlights, which is especially important in silk and velvet! Dearest Dressmakers,

Exciting news! We've been accepted into the June 2026 edition of Wholesome Direct! Tune in on the 6th of June to watch a newly cut trailer showing sneak peaks of some new features, new characters, and a launch date announcement!

Otherwise, we've been adding loads more content to the game and refining a lot of the UI. We want the UI to be playful as well as functional, and one of the things that was sorely in need of rework was the fabric inventory. The fabric preview more accurately shows highlights, which is especially important in silk and velvet! We also only show the full name of the fabric when you mouse over it so that you can see more of the fabric itself. Here's a before and after shot:

We've been working on a feature where you can create your own dresses to sell off the rack. This means you can take a break from making the more specific commissions for clients to instead make your own custom dresses to sell, or save up for an extra elaborate dress!

We've also been refining our character art, with 9 of our 10 planned characters illustrated. If you've played the prototype you may recognise two of them, but here's a first look at a third one! Each character has their own sense of fashion, and a suitably over-the-top personality to go with them!

And, of course, we've been making loads of new dress pieces and fabrics! And what better way to show them off than with a small sample of the incredible dresses that our Discord playtesters have been creating this past month!

These dresses were made by playtesters in our Discord community: Eli (two dresses), andando, Irina Elina (three dresses), RoseNoire, OuchPotatoes, RandomXiwi and Mortis.

We've put a pause on new playtest signups while we work on the unlock progression and tutorials, so that we can find out whether these work well for fresh, new players. If you join our Discord server you'll be the first to know when playtest signups re-open.

Until next time,

The Dressmaker Team
