Welcome

Hey there! It's time for this month's devlog. ːsteamhappyː

This month was a little slower, as it turns out there were (and still are) quite a few bugs bundled with the updated demo. Most of them have been fixed, but the battle continues.

Apart from that, I've added some new content to the game, and made some existing stuff playable, so let's go over it! ːespressoː

Getting to know your regulars

A core part of the game is building up a community of regular customers, who may do favours for you as you bond with them over time.

If you've played the demo, you may have met them already, and in the full game, you'll need to fulfil specific requests for them, by serving them the drink that they've ordered.

This could be a specific drink, or they may let you decide, and instead ask for a drink with (or without) a specific taste.

After you've fulfilled enough requests, you should have an idea of the flavour profile they enjoy, and you can then figure out what their favourite drink is!

Bonding with your regulars can unlock ways to expand the cafe without paying a penny, or even advance the story, so take the time to get to know them! ːluvː

(That being said, you don't have to if you don't want to. How you choose to progress is down to you!)

Expanding the drinks menu

To add more variety to the requests, I've expanded the drinks menu by adding seasonal drinks!

These drinks are a little more complicated to make than the current ones, but sell for more.

They also have a seasonal bonus, where the price is increased if you make it during it's associated season!

Below are some of the drinks I've added to the game, there's currently around 12 of them.

You can acquire the recipes by buying recipe books from the book store. I've also split some of the existing drinks into their own recipe books!

Farming

Farming is now playable in the full game! I actually added it in around 2 years ago, but it was in a prototype stage, and wasn't actually playable.

You'll need to repair the barn and greenhouse first. This can be done by either saving up a lot of money, or bonding with certain regulars that are capable of melting Winter's ice.

Once the farm is repaired, you can start growing your own coffee plants, and harvest your own supply of coffee beans.

Your crops can occasionally develop mutations, which can give bonuses to sale price, growth time, or crop yield. You can then replant it to produce coffee beans with that bonus, which can then mutate further!

It's all automated, so you just need to check on your crops each week or so, no watering or digging required! ːsteamhappyː You might want to pet the hardworking Little D-Mons every once in a while, though. ːluvː

Closing Notes

That's it for this devlog. The fatigue is starting to kick in now, but Dreadwinter continues to move forwards.

Thanks for reading, and I'll see you in the next update!

-Alex
