changed1.0.3x — The World in ColorFlying to a map site does something. Caches, roosts, cairns, wrecks and hold keys all had a trigger radius smaller than the distance your wing stops at. You'd arrive and turn for home having touched nothing. Warded holds tell you what they want. They asked for a Spire Sigil and never said where sigils come from, or whether you already had one. They drop off a Warden Brood. The hold says so now, and says when you're carrying one. Route stops can be numbered and deleted. I expect hotfixes after this one.

1.0.3x — The World in Color

This is the biggest patch since launch, and most of it is me fixing things I shipped broken. Straight list, no padding.

Runs that couldn't be finished Region 2 is passable. Three Breath costs were stacking, so reaching the nearest hold cost more than a full wing could carry.

Scan-gated holds can be taken on a return visit. The watchspire the game told you to find was never spawned on a second trip to a region. It's there now — labelled, visible through fog, with a real hitbox, and any dragon in the wing can claim it instead of only your captain.

Flying to a map site does something. The right-click target was about three screen pixels wide and shrank as the campaign went on.

New Level your dragons by hand. A per-dragon toggle on her page: leave her on automatic, or spend her growth yourself across HP, power, armor, aim and the rest. Same budget either way — this is a choice, not extra power. Switch back and forth freely; you never lose a point. All twelve breeds are in the base game. The six that were held back are hatchable, pickable and playable, with portraits and field-guide entries. There was going to be a paid DLC. There isn't. You get them.

The Outer Gate — a fifth hall for the hold, where Breath capacity is bought. The hold is re-founded on its own history: the Hearth, the Rookery, the Outer Gate. Six new run weathers, and region modifiers that actually reach the enemies they claim to affect. Look and feel

Every dragon and enemy redrawn. Sharper anatomy, real silhouettes, twelve breeds that don't read as one shape in twelve colours. The dragon page is about who she is and how she grows. It had nine labelled sections, several announcing their own emptiness. It has five.

Readable mode is worth using. It used to switch the whole shader off and take the colour grade with it. Breath matters again. It had flattened into scenery over the last few patches. Clicking the map mid-flight marks what you see instead of steering your wing. Route planning happens before launch, where you can see the cost. Four abilities that only revealed things now do something. Revealing isn't an effect on a route you already chose. Still not done The bestiary is thin. The mid-campaign sags. Balance past region 3 has had far less play than it needs — if it feels easy there, that's known and it's next, not a surprise. I expect hotfixes after this one.

Nearly every fix above started as somebody saying "this is broken." Keep telling me.

Short version

Region 2 was unwinnable. Scan-gated holds couldn't be taken at all on a return visit. Flying to a map site did nothing. Fog of war ran backwards, so exploring made your map darker. All fixed.

New: level your dragons by hand. All twelve breeds are in the base game — the DLC is cancelled, you just get them. A fifth hall for the hold.

And the UI isn't brown any more. There was a sepia filter on every frame draining the colour out of everything, which is why changing palettes never seemed to do much.

Not finished. Still working on it.
