Dragon's Bane changes
A New Chapter
This is a massive content and quality-of-life update with new systems, deeper combat, and a long list of fixes. Here's everything that's new since the last version:
New Content & Systems
Crafting & Recipes — enemies now drop recipe scrolls. Turn them in at the Blacksmith to learn new gear, then craft it from materials you gather. Duplicate scrolls upgrade a recipe, adding bonus stats to everything you craft from it.
Two New Spell Trees — master Frost Bolt and Lightning, each with four upgradeable skills and unique battlefield effects (Frost slow and Static shock).
Steam Leaderboards — compete globally for Highest Level Reached and Total Monster Kills. This is still experimental and I'll be working the kinks out as people start getting active in it. Access it by pressing "L".
Combat Overhaul
Status Effect Visuals — enemies now visibly show what's afflicting them: burning, poison, frost, shock, stun, and hit flashes all read at a glance.
Elemental Weaknesses & Resistances — every region now has an elemental identity. Forest creatures burn easily, the Corrupted dungeon's beasts buckle to frost, and the undead of the Cemetery fear lightning. Your spell choices matter.
Smarter, deadlier enemies — the Lich and Fallen Angel can now cast Frost Bolt.
Poison Arrow now deals proper damage over time.
Quality of Life
Audio Settings — independent Master, Music, and SFX volume sliders.
Reset Potion — fully respec your attribute points and spell trees whenever you want for 250 gold.
Compare Tooltips — hover an item and hold Shift to compare it side-by-side with your equipped gear.
Redesigned Crafting Window — a cleaner, larger layout that shows materials, costs, and upgrade progress at a glance.
In-Game Bug Report & Feedback Tools — report issues right from the pause menu (it even auto-detects errors).
Autosave every couple of minutes, plus a save backup so your progress is safer.
Inventory polish — item stacking fixed, a "scroll for more" hint, and you can now equip two of the same ring.
Balance & Economy
Rebalanced buy/sell prices and closed a gold-farming exploit.
Overhauled the loot system for more reliable, consistent drops.
Bug Fixes (highlights)
Spells now cast on the first press (no more double-tapping).
Fixed numerous crashes (item infusion, healers, shrines, dungeon transitions, and more).
Mimics can no longer be fled from — fight or die.
Closed an exploit that let you equip shop items without buying them.
Only one potion per turn now (no more chugging).
Fixed a false "stun" icon appearing on enemies.
Health/mana now regenerate every turn as intended.
Long dialogue and journal text no longer overflows its box.
I know this has been a long time coming but and I appreciate everyone who comes back and gives this update a try. If you enjoy it then please leave a review on the steam page, it helps greatly. More to come Mageknights!
