Salutations, Dragon Hunters,

Last week, we announced that cross-play will be arriving with our next content update. And as you might expect, we’ve been cooking up some exciting features that we think you’re going to love.

Today, we’d like to give you a small glimpse at what we’re currently tinkering with behind the scenes. Without further delay, let’s share what we have in store… and take A look at the Horizon!

Soooo...

🟡Unique Weapons

One of the biggest requests from the community has been the addition of unique items, and we’re happy to finally share with you that we’re actively working on these coveted items !

  • That’s right! UNIQUES are coming.

But wait... what do we exactly mean by Uniques?

Our design philosophy is still to keep encouraging players to experiment and express themselves!

Unique items in other ARPGs are usually designed to do something “special” that no other piece of item can offer, naturally reducing build variety, unless you have hundreds of choices. On our side, we truly believe that the ‘Unique Chasing’ experience is something that we find fun and engaging, and we want to focus on this aspect.

The uniques we want to create should be flexible items that players can adapt to, available to different builds and playstyles and not just altering a skill in a specific way. Think of them as items with passive effects, versatile to fit multiple archetypes, while still feeling distinct and “unique” enough to enhance theorycraft and offer a “micro-journey”.

Here an example of what we mean:

  • This weapon has a random talent bonus from another character class, which can be changed by devouring other items.

Of course, you’ll get to learn more and get a better idea of our “Uniques Design” in the upcoming days, and what “devouring” other items means...

For now, we’re fully dedicating our efforts to Unique weapons, so don’t expect other equipment slots to receive the same treatment.

To be honest with you, we’re still fine-tuning our concept, experimenting with the UI tooltip, including icons for that kind of item and, of course… their unique passive effects! As such, we’re not quite ready to reveal more details yet.

Rest assured that we’ll be coming back to this topic soon enough!

🟡A ‘New’ Activity … or rather a ‘New’ Event

We’ll be adding a brand-new event, we like to call: The Dracomundus Purgatory.

Unlike Chaos Hunts or Maps, The Dracomundus Purgatory cannot be selected directly. Instead, it will trigger mostly at random for the most part after endgame hunts, as well as at specific points during the main story, opening a portal to the Dracomundus biome.

We’ll keep the details on the challenges that lie within, for now.

It will also serve as the location where players will be able to find & farm ALL Draconics, as well as unique weapons.

🟡 What else in that free content update?

Cross-Play + Invite code

And of course, a variety of 🐛 bug fixes, ✨ QoL (quality-of-life) improvements, and 🚀optimization.

🟣New Cosmetics (for all classes)

Pretty self-explanatory, our optional content DLC will be Cosmetic armors for all classes, including the Knight, Oracle, Barbarian and Tracker.

As usual, we’ll be sharing previews of the upcoming skins over time on our Discord.

Can you give us the release date then? Pretty please?

Unfortunately, that’s as much information as you’ll get for the release date. That said, we have a lot more prepared, so keep an eye out - you will find out more in the coming months!

And that’s about it for this update!

We can’t thank you all enough for joining us on this journey and supporting Dragonkin, as well as sharing your invaluable feedback! If you’d like to join your fellow Dragon Hunters, or speak directly to us (the devs), make sure you head on over to our Discord Steam post image
