changedHey Everyone,Rendering rework -Previously, Down To One used a custom rendering setup to overcome a number of issues within Unity 4, and also made things like "hands-over-UI" possible. Since DTO is now running on the Unity 5.4 beta, we've been able to get rid of most of this custom, hacky code and replace it with cleaner, shorter methods that lead to less bugs, higher performance, and better visuals.
addedHey Everyone,New PostFX -Post-Processing isn't a term that everyone thinks of fondly, but DTO's newly updated PostFX pipeline, PRISM, has been built specifically for performance, and outperforms any other Post-Processing system for Unity by up to 500%. Not only that, but our new PostFX also get applied to the first-person camera thanks to the rendering rework, meaning that your characters hands + gun no longer look out of place.
addedHey Everyone,Reworked visuals -New textures, shaders, and color correction all add to the new Down To One experience. Add custom reflection maps for each area on the map, improved shadows, and no more occlusion culling bugs, and DTO has never looked so good.
changedHey Everyone,Reworked ADS -Previously, ADSing in Down To One 'glued' the camera to the gun, which meant that recoil when ADSing was not very visual. Our new ADS rework not only fixes this, but also gives certain guns different ironsight positions to better correlate with how your character would actually look down the sights.
addedHey Everyone,Introducing the MP40 -A new patch wouldn't be perfect without a new gun, so the MP40 has started to appear in various military outposts & watch towers in Down To One. Firing slower than all other SMGs, but with very controllable recoil, and slightly higher accuracy, the MP40's 32-round 9mm magazine is a solid choice for close to mid range combat.

  • Rendering rework -Previously, Down To One used a custom rendering setup to overcome a number of issues within Unity 4, and also made things like "hands-over-UI" possible. Since DTO is now running on the Unity 5.4 beta, we've been able to get rid of most of this custom, hacky code and replace it with cleaner, shorter methods that lead to less bugs, higher performance, and better visuals.

Not only that, but our new PostFX also get applied to the first-person camera thanks to the rendering rework, meaning that your characters hands + gun no longer look out of place.

  • Reworked visuals -New textures, shaders, and color correction all add to the new Down To One experience. Add custom reflection maps for each area on the map, improved shadows, and no more occlusion culling bugs, and DTO has never looked so good.

  • Reworked ADS -Previously, ADSing in Down To One 'glued' the camera to the gun, which meant that recoil when ADSing was not very visual. Our new ADS rework not only fixes this, but also gives certain guns different ironsight positions to better correlate with how your character would actually look down the sights.

Firing slower than all other SMGs, but with very controllable recoil, and slightly higher accuracy, the MP40's 32-round 9mm magazine is a solid choice for close to mid range combat.

  • Reset perks, cash and stats -With update 1.2, the 'season' has been reset, so everyone starts out again on a level playing field.

  • New perk - "Build A Wall" (Cost: 15 Perk Points) -Your skills in border protection allow you to solidify the Playable Area for 60 seconds, turning it into an impassable wall and increasing damage dealt to anyone caught outside it for the duration.

  • Various major performance improvements

Minor Changes

Improved Main Menu visuals

Added end-game effect to transition out before the main menu

Increased reward on the High Roller perk to 500% (from 300%)

Decreased health bonus on the Armor Plates perk to 15 (from 20)

Buffed Demolition Expert perk extra damage by 100%

Changed the playable area so that it decreases slower at the start of the round - this should let players have a bit more of an 'exploration' phase before transitioning into combat, as well as increasing average round time

Various main menu bugfixes

Fixed stats not saving correctly

Various ingame bugfixes

Various changes to scale of objects

Server stability improvements So, as you can see, it's been worth the wait - don't waste any time, get out onto the battlefield and get ranking up again! Also, something we also wanted to get into this update is DX12 support, which unfortunately is still broken in Unity - as soon as it works, we'll ship it! As always, don't forget to follow Down To One on Twitter, and if you'd like Steam notifications for when matches are starting, don't forget to join the Let's Play Down To One Steam group.
