Down To One changes
Hey Everyone,
It's been cooking up for a while, and now it's finally here! Update 0.5 is probably our biggest update yet in terms of new features, content, and % of code changed. With the first implementation of our AI, Matchmaking, an In-game map, new weapons, and much more, we're pretty excited. Read on for the full patch notes. Additions and Improvements
Added initial AI Implementation -For AI in Down To One, we wanted to get the core architecture right. Every AI in DTO has to loot weapons, food, water, bandages, stay inside the playable area, kill snakes, etc, and even aim properly. -AI also benefit from just about every passive perk they (or you) have - If you shoot a weapon in the AI's hands, it will get damaged, and become less accurate, or if an AI with the 'Ol Western perk hits your secondary, then it'll fly out of your hands, just like a player-shot bullet. -Since this is our first implementation of AI, there are currently a few bugs which we'll be ironing out in the coming weeks, the most common/serious bug at the moment occurs when the AI cannot find a path to their desired location (you may notice the AI running through the spawn building this patch - that is the only building on the map that they will ever clip through). AI spawn after the round starts.
Added in-game map in the Spawn Area
Added Matchmaking (new button in the Main Menu)
Added bush sounds which trigger after moving in some foliage around the map
Added in-game video tutorials in the main menu
Added the 12 Gauge shotgun -Holding up to 9 shells, the 12 Gauge is a very powerful close range weapon, which can also be loaded with either slugs, buckshot, or a combination of both.
Thrown flares now call in artillery shells to the area they land in
Increased flare spawn rate in military spawners
Tidied up in-game menu UI
Increased input polling rate for character movement
Updated Bolt networking to version 0.31 (various perf. increases)
Bug fixes
Fixed bug where players who joined the game after the round had started would never receive information about weapons & other items (eg. invisible weapons in spectator mode)
Fixed bug with the "Energized" perk not correctly applying the boost
Fixed game hanging on refreshing of server list
Various other networking-related bugfixes
