🌊 Hello, this is Merlin's Attic, the development team behind 「Dorasyeoda」.

Already, one month of 2026 has passed, and we have arrived at February.

During this time, we prioritized showing tangible progress to those who have been patiently waiting for Dorasyeoda, and as a result, we were unable to share development logs as frequently as we had hoped.

However, since our last developer letter, many of you—having waited for quite some time—have reached out with a common question: “How far along is the development right now?”

In response to your voices, we would like to share a portion of what we are currently working on, and what kinds of changes have taken place along the way.

In our previous developer letter, we mentioned that starting this year, our goal is to deliver updates sequentially.

For the upcoming update, rather than immediately increasing visible content, we are focusing on laying a solid foundation to support the stories of Chapters 1 through 3.

As part of this process, we are revisiting Chapter 0 and revising areas that require adjustment.

We came to the conclusion that if these issues were not addressed now, they could become obstacles when unfolding the story later on.

At the same time, we are steadily improving elements that may disrupt immersion during gameplay.

While you wait for the upcoming update, we hope that sharing our development progress can offer a small token of appreciation for your patience. Moving forward, we plan to share development updates as consistently as possible.

Worldbuilding Revision

One of the areas that required the most time during this development phase was a comprehensive review and refinement of the existing worldbuilding.

We revisited and reorganized the foundational elements of Dorasyeoda’s setting—culture, economy, religion, technology, and political systems—one by one, with the aim of strengthening the narrative’s core.

Among these, the most significant change concerns the class system, which forms the backbone of Dorasyeoda’s story.

Previously, the class structure consisted of the Ruby, the Lapis, the Amber, and the Shadow.

However, upon re-evaluating the setting, we concluded that this structure lacked social plausibility.

Excluding the Ruby, which represents royalty, society was effectively composed only of the Lapis and the Shadow, while the Amber amounted to nothing more than non-human mechanical entities.

In other words, the society functioned as a structure where all citizens were either nobles or slaves.

We determined that this was a national structure that would be difficult to sustain in the long term.

As a result, we introduced a new commoner class, the Jade, and revised the class system to the Ruby, the Lapis, the Jade, and the Shadow.

  • The Ruby acts as the proxy of the god, delivering divine will and overseeing the order of New Joseon.

  • The Lapis assists the Ruby by governing the detailed workings of the state and shaping the flow of order.

  • The Jade represents the general populace that forms the foundation of order, producing goods in accordance with its flow.

  • The Shadow occupies the lowest tier of the hierarchy, serving the upper classes in an effort to atone for sins committed in a past life, thereby forming the very base of the system.

Additionally, the former the Amber (mechanical humans) has been renamed Indugeop (literally “human husks,” meaning human-shaped shells or disguises).

  • The Indugeop exist outside the class system and act to enforce divine will by eliminating those who go
