changedThis far into the game, the player has seen several parts of, in and out of the Lounge District. They've even encountered a Ministry they were unaware even existed. Creating “Ministry X” was a risk. It was visually out of the expected spectrum for the player. But one of the reasons it worked so well in production was because the characters had assumed familiarity, at least for the most part. This sort of thing can greatly pull back the player to a setting's tangibility when their first reaction to it feels staggering. A debrief with the Frequency-Police, a theory by an agent named Flint, a Pizzeria, etc. Those instruments were all new to the player, but their history had to feel as if previously engraved or impacted with the Ministry Of Order. This upcoming Case-File; “The Synthman Cometh”, may very well break this comfort again. By now, the player has either invested or not invested in searching the Ministry for the biggest answers the world hasn't revealed just yet. Maybe they've read the History Machines, maybe they haven't. Maybe they've studied the propaganda, the playable radios or the other agents they've encountered, but maybe they haven't. Where actually are you? How did you get here? How important are you? Door To Door's story since its inception has been about a very gray world trying to hide its smoke and lightening behind a very colorful and musical mask. “The Synthman Cometh” will escort you through some twisted thunder some players may have been looking for.
