Repeated intro
Hey Doodle Champs! 🎨
What changed
- Compatibility
- UI and audio
We're planning on full Steam Deck compatibility once the main PC version of the game has been completed.
Demo Compatibility Status
I'm happy to say that the Doodle Champs Demo works surprisingly well on Steam Deck! This is a surprise because we haven't added any official support for it yet, this is purely a byproduct of working on other types of peripheral support.
You can draw by using your finger on the touch screen, or move the cursor with the Right Joystick and Press R2 to draw. The same goes for interacting with the menus.
Enhance your experience!
If you want to enhance your experience further, I suggest using any standard touch screen stylus.
Planned support
We're hoping to fully support the Steam Deck version after release, actually looking into comfortable key bindings and ensuring the touch support feels as good as it possibly can. Don't expect Pen Pressure though, as the Steam Deck's touch screen only supports a single level of pressure.
Thanks for playing the Doodle Champs Demo! ✌🎨 If you create any masterpieces on Steam Deck please post 'em in the Discord! (Join from Main Menu)
Important Update:
On launch day Steam Deck is less compatible than it was in the Demo, meaning now only touch controls are working, and button controls are temporarily disabled. If you'd like to play on Steam Deck at this time, I'd recommend using a touch pen, and hitting "reset" in the in game settings menu. This should set your steam deck to the optimal screen settings for now.
Have no fear, we intend to work towards 100% compatibility on Steam Deck - making the experience as enjoyable as possible.
