Don't press X to free the pirate! changes
All hands on deck! This is not a drill! The most (un)dangerous and (completely un)armed Pirate is craving freedom! Can you withstand his schemes and manage to do absolutely nothing in a game you actually paid money for? :)
Do you sense the catch and the contradiction? That’s exactly the foundation of this high-effort shitpost experiment. My goal was to create a game that tries its hardest to force you to "play," while simultaneously mocking the very absurdity of the situation. Prepare to feel like the punchline of a post-modern joke!
But just staring at a Pirate would be boring. That’s why literally everything in the game—from the music and animations to the menus and the tutorial - is designed to pressure you into pressing that accursed X button.
What to expect? This is an experimental project, so I want to be transparent:
⏳ Duration: The game is designed for about an hour of playtime (this includes getting all achievements). In the modern world, achievements are half the game for completionists, and here they play a fundamental role in wringing out every drop of interactivity.
- 🛠 SupportI will fix bugs, possibly add new dialogue lines, or maybe even drop an extra music track.
🎨 Visuals: Don't expect major graphical overhauls. I honestly tried adding fancy materials and particle systems, but one move and the specific shitpost vibe vanishes. The game stays true to its chaotic nature.
What's next? If you folks enjoy this Frankenstein's monster, I already have an idea for a sequel. Imagine this Pirate, but evolved into the world's most toxic Tamagotchi. One that remembers your actions and maybe even pulls info from your Steam profile. Maybe your friends' Pirates will even conspire against you... But those are just dreams for now.
And now... It is time to hit the "Release" button and go celebrate. Fun fact: The game release happens to land exactly on my actual Birthday. 🎂
So, I’m off to cut the cake while frantically refreshing the Steam page, waiting for your honest (and hopefully not too angry) reviews.
