How to play Domiverse online with Parsec

Why there is no online inside domiverse?

There are several reasons for the lack of online mode in Domiverse. You know that the game is best enjoyed accompanied by the assumption of some mild physical violence between friends, playing together in front of the TV. But the main reason is simple: Time and Money; it cost a lot for a small team like Haunted Tie to develop a (working!) online mode. Then we discovered Parsec, a software designed to play any (really any!) games online. We tried it and instantly loved it. Right now, Parsec is the best way to play Domiverse online with your friends.

How it works?

Only one player must possess the game, like when you invite friends for a Pizza / Beer / Domiverse party. This player is the server streaming the game using Parsec and receive inputs from other computers. With the right configuration, related to your internet connections, there is nearly 0 lag.

How to setup?

  • You and your friends subscribe to Parsec here https://parsecgaming.com/

  • Download and install the client

  • Add your friends using their parsec user name

  • The host then need to Add a computer and Create a party

  • You can change the settings of the party to decide which application can be seen by the other players (only Domiverse, the whole desktop, …) and also which inputs you accept to receive (keyboard, controller, …)

  • The other players can join the party by clicking on the friend, then Join

  • Finally, the host run the game and everyone enjoy it!

Some tips

  • Disable VSync in the Client settings to have a lower latency

  • Reducing resolution helps reducing the lag

  • The Echo Cancelling included in parsec is not perfect while speaking on discord, you better use VB-Audio Cable

  • Want to find players or having issue with Parsec? Use their active parsec discord channel

  • You can also look for players using the domiverse discord channel
