[Multilingual] Two Words That Shouldn’t Have Been Read

Lately, I’ve been feeling that it’s become much harder than before to tell whether a piece of writing or an image was created by generative AI. Back in the 2000s, when “Geemu” was originally released, technology like today’s generative AI simply didn’t exist.

That’s precisely why everything contained in this work must have been created with someone’s intent behind it.

Modern AI can produce astonishingly natural results, whether in text or images. And yet, from time to time, it outputs something completely unexpected—something no one asked for. What exactly is that, I wonder… I don’t believe AI is altering things of its own will, of course—but still.

Today, out of the many image files we have, I want to talk about one that uses a large number of different languages. The first thing that catches your eye when you open it is an overwhelming mass of text. Multiple languages are layered on top of one another, arranged in a way that seems deliberately difficult to read.

Among all of it, the only words I could clearly identify as Japanese were “you” and “want.”

Looking more closely, I also noticed what appear to be traces of human handprints in the background. It’s hard to say whether they’re just part of the noise and texture—or if there was some other intention behind them. I think I’ll take a closer look at the surrounding data next.
