addedThe introduction of manual throws brings a whole new competitive feel to DGGO. Using the new throw mechanic is simple to understand but challenging to master. Simply press and hold the throw button to initiate the backswing. While you're doing this, you will notice a slider appear toward the right side of the screen. Once visible the slider’s handle will begin to follow the backswing animation and as a result move downward on the slider. Once it reaches the bottom, the slider’s handle will begin to move upwards in correlation with the player's forward swing animation. The speed at which the handle moves back to the top of the slider is determined by the Speed rating of the particular disc. As a result, slower speed discs are much easier to throw than their higher speed counterparts. The ideal time to release the throw button is right before the handle reaches the peak of the slider (this section is also denoted by two green squares). Releasing the throw button early will result in an “Early Release” causing the disc to be thrown more left (for RHBH). Releasing the throw button too late will result in a “Late Release” causing grip lock, which will result in the disc flying more to the right (RHBH).
changedIf the player releases the throw button during the backswing (or much too early during the forward swing) the disc will return to its starting position. Those who have previously used the putting stance may already be familiar with this type of hold and release mechanic.

Manual Throws:
The introduction of manual throws brings a whole new competitive feel to DGGO.
If the player releases the throw button during the backswing (or much too early during the forward swing) the disc will return to its starting position. Those who have previously used the putting stance may already be familiar with this type of hold and release mechanic.
Manual throws will continue to be tested and tuned throughout July and into early August, at which point they will replace the current throws as the default throw mechanic. The current “Single Click” throws will also remain as an option for unranked or otherwise specified events. When this does happen, some or all player stats may be reset, including leaderboards to ensure fairness across all accounts.
Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the new manual throw mechanics throughout this and next month. As always, please feel free to join the DGGO Discord to discuss any questions or ideas you may have about the game (https://discgolfgameon.com/discord).
