Let's dive right in!
Release Strategy Update
Based on the incredible experience with our first playtest, we're adjusting our release strategy. Instead of the planned Early Access, we'll be launching a series of playtests using Steam's Playtest feature. This allows us to involve you in the development process more effectively while we build out a core feature set. We will still offer an Early Release, but it will come closer to our full game launch.
Stay tuned for an upcoming Spring Playtest announcement, where you'll get a chance to experience many of the fantastic updates and content we have in store!
What have we been working on?
Core Experience Updates
Training Hill
We are in the final stages of developing a robust training field aimed at honing your disc golf skills. Stay tuned as we prepare to unveil this exciting addition!
Trigger-less Disc Release
Our latest feature ensures a more natural disc release mechanism. By simulating real-world grip release dynamics, players can focus on perfecting their arm swing without worrying about the unnatural timing of when you release the trigger.
Disc Creation Tools
We’ve developed in-game tools designed to empower us to create and customize discs. This opens up a world of personalized disc options for players in the future!
Arm Swing UI
We are continuously refining our Arm Swing UI to offer intuitive controls and an immersive feedback experience. The first version is now complete, with further enhancements on the horizon.
Quality of Life Updates
Disc Physics Improvements
Based on valuable player feedback, we've fine-tuned the disc physics to align with player expectations. Expect smoother glide behavior and less overstability, generally.
Disc Selection UI Improvements
We’ve updated the UI to eliminate unnecessary movements and to hint at the controls available for selection.
Guided Paths to the Basket
Navigate the course with ease using our new Guided Paths feature. Never lose your way again as you follow the shortest route to the basket.
Performance Updates
Engine & Rendering Optimizations
Experience improved fidelity and performance thanks to significant upgrades in our engine and rendering systems. Enjoy smoother gameplay and enhanced visuals across the board.
Temporal Anti-Aliasing Support
We've implemented temporal anti-aliasing to address visual artifacts on VR devices with lower screen resolutions. This enhancement ensures a more stable and visually pleasing VR experience.
What’s coming next?
Disc Collections
Prepare for an expanded Disc Collection experience where you can discover, earn, and craft new discs to enhance your gameplay!
Streamlined Tutorial
Our upcoming tutorials, integrated into the Training Field, will guide new players through controls, introduce them to disc golf fundamentals, and provide ample practice opportunities to sharpen their skills.
Throw Assist Updates
Building upon our existing throw-assist feature, we're ramping up with enhancements like trajectory, spin, and angle correction. These updates aim to make the game more accessible and enjoyable for players of all skill levels.
Course Updates
Get ready for fresh experiences with new courses and holes added to the game! Stay tuned for exciting challenges and varied landscapes
