DIRT 5 changes
Prepare to get loud in DIRT 5, with Update 4.00 and the Uproar Content Pack, launching March 30!
New cars, events, items and more come to the award-winning off-road racer, including a host of free content for all players and further exclusive content for Amplified Edition and Year One Upgrade owners. Let’s get into the details, beginning with four familiar machines making their DIRT 5 debut…
Uproar Content Pack
The Uproar Content Pack restores four of the most exciting and eye-catching machines from our previous extreme off-road title, DiRT Showdown.
First up, the Duke Coupe (above) from the Rally GT Class – a powerful long wheelbase car with hot rod stylings and huge tyres, ready to conquer DIRT 5’s routes in its own unique style. In the Rally Cross class, the Zenden Cup (below) is a perfect addition, with its compact boxy chassis and aerodynamic flair housing a powerful engine – the ideal mix of speed and handling for our off-road events.
The Jackson Adventurer (below), meanwhile, is a bigger beast for the Unlimited Class that’s low on the unnecessary extras and big on shock absorbers, suspension and speed for those big jumps. Finally, the Jackson Eulogy (second below) – the most unique of our latest cars, with an estate chassis decked out with custom details and performance upgrades, dropping into our Classic Rally class.
Each of the four cars will feature in a new thread of 25 Career events, available in the ‘Uproar’ option in Career. Every event either takes place at night or features dynamically changing weather that includes night racing, creating a fresh test of your nerve, reaction, and skill. The 25 events will take you across the globe in new race scenarios including New York, Nepal, Italy, and South Africa.
Two sponsors are added into Career mode in the Uproar Content Pack: PUMA and OffRoad Xtreme. Race through Career events when signed to these sponsors to unlock new items, including unique liveries, player profile options and custom livery patterns, to show your style on the track.
On top of that, we’re adding Achievements/Trophies to all versions of DIRT 5! With Update 4.00 you’ll find Achievements/Trophies connected to playing both the Uproar Career thread, and the recently released Energy Career thread. If you’ve previously played the Energy Career events and meet the requirements for any new Achievement/Trophy, you will automatically unlock them.
The Uproar Content Pack will be automatically added to DIRT 5 for players who own the Amplified Edition or Year One Upgrade. For all other players, the pack will be available to purchase from Steam for £9.99/€11.49/$12.49.
Free DIRT 5 Content for Everyone in Update 4.00
Free to all players, Update 4.00 includes another huge slate of content across multiple game modes for players to get stuck into.
Let’s start with Playgrounds, where we’re keeping up the night-time theme with the After Dark Playgrounds Update! Another 20+ items will be added to the custom arena creator mode, all of which come to life at night. Look for bold colour palettes, fireworks, new variants of checkpoints, loops and jumps, and even a multi-coloured disco floor for Gymkhana spin zones! All players will have access to the items via a new tab in Create mode, and all players can take on Playgrounds featuring the new content in Discover mode.
Night-time options for Italy and Arizona will be added, along with the existing night conditions for Cape Town Stadium, to help make the most of the After Dark items. Get creative with these options and design incredible custom arenas that bring the night to life.
Elsewhere, by popular demand, we’re adding more classic official liveries. In any game mode, iconic liveries are selectable for four off-road legends: the BMW M1 Procar, SUBARU WRX STI RX Supercar, SUBARU Impreza S4 Rally, and MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION VI.
More DIRT 5 Features and Community-Requested Additions
We are also thrilled to add several changes and additional features in Update 4.00, all driven by the feedback and suggestions of you, the players.
Private lobbies will be added to the game’s Online options, allowing players to create a custom race lobby and play with friends via invite. Customise your lobby by selecting the race location, car class, race length, location and weather conditions to create your ideal event, then battle online against the rest of your lobby of up to eight players.
We’re also adding an area for players to view their game profile statistics, including total miles driven, total races completed and much more. Finally, we’re adding a new feature to Playgrounds mode to help players find the best creations, and to reward the greatest designers: Verified Creators. The DIRT 5 team will be hand-picking the best creators in Playgrounds mode to receive the Verified Creators tag, shown by a ‘tick’ next to their name when their Playgrounds appear in Discover mode – so you know it’s made by one of the best. Keep designing and refining your Playgrounds to see if you get Verified!
