I also believe it is fair to be transparent about the scope of the project and the expectations around it.
Directive 220 is my first game project. I have spent most of my life playing games and always wanted to create and release one myself someday. This project is essentially that long-term personal goal finally becoming real.
Directive 220 is a narrative-focused indie game built by a single developer with extremely limited time and resources. The project is developed mostly after work during limited spare time — usually around one or two hours per day on average.
The main focus is placed on atmosphere, moral tension, political pressure, and difficult decision-making rather than large-scale AAA production values.
Because of the project's scale and constraints, some visual workflows are AI-assisted in order to make development realistically possible for a solo developer.
If you are looking for a polished AAA simulation with high-end production values, this may not be that kind of experience. But if you enjoy oppressive atmosphere, difficult choices, systemic pressure, and dystopian concepts inspired by games like Papers, Please, then Directive 220 is likely much closer to what you can expect.
