fixedGreetings Dimensionals! We’re back again this week for another hotfix patch to address some immediate crash issues. Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions and bug reports over in our Discord server, it has all been tremendously helpful as we continue moving forwards in Early Access. Today’s patch is a relatively small one so let’s dive right in:
addedNew Additions:Abandon Raid (Title Screen) Dev Note: We’ve added a new Abandon Raid button to the title screen to ensure that if players are somehow locked in an infinite loop or an exceptionally long calculation loading screen, they can end their run from the title screen and get back into the game.
removedNew Additions:Removed Single Encounter Card options from Map 1 of the Master Raid Dev Note: Before players have a chance to get a developed build, sometimes single fights or elites could ruin a run on the spot. We’ve removed the ability for single option rooms to exist in the first map of the Master Raid so there will always be at least 2 options to choose from to ensure a smoother start to your run.
changedCrash / Bug / Performance Fixes:Puff Pow Updated:
fixedCrash / Bug / Performance Fixes:When any hero deals damage to a target with 30+ Poison, deal 5 Bonus Damage to the target (1, 2, 3) times. Max 10 times per turn. Unique.
changedCrash / Bug / Performance Fixes:Dev Note: Puff Pow was drastically overtuned and resulted in a very easy infinite loop by simply owning two of them. Especially in the Rare slot, this level of power was a bit TOO much for Fungass to handle. We’ve reduced the number of hits Puff Pow can deal per rank to 10, 20, and 30 respectively, and given it unique to create some more diversity in Fungass builds.

Greetings Dimensionals!

New Additions:

  • Abandon Raid (Title Screen) Dev Note: We’ve added a new Abandon Raid button to the title screen to ensure that if players are somehow locked in an infinite loop or an exceptionally long calculation loading screen, they can end their run from the title screen and get back into the game.

  • Removed Single Encounter Card options from Map 1 of the Master Raid Dev Note: Before players have a chance to get a developed build, sometimes single fights or elites could ruin a run on the spot. We’ve removed the ability for single option rooms to exist in the first map of the Master Raid so there will always be at least 2 options to choose from to ensure a smoother start to your run.

Crash / Bug / Performance Fixes:

Puff Pow Updated:

  • When any hero deals damage to a target with 30+ Poison, deal 5 Bonus Damage to the target (1, 2, 3) times. Max 10 times per turn. Unique.

  • Dev Note: Puff Pow was drastically overtuned and resulted in a very easy infinite loop by simply owning two of them. Especially in the Rare slot, this level of power was a bit TOO much for Fungass to handle. We’ve reduced the number of hits Puff Pow can deal per rank to 10, 20, and 30 respectively, and given it unique to create some more diversity in Fungass builds.

Fortified Poison fixed to no longer trigger off itself leading to instability and crashes. Tainted Flurry reduced to a maximum of 20 hits per cast. Noxious Barrier now has a maximum trigger of 20 times per turn. Sporecoating now scales maximum applications per turn with rank. Rank 1: Limit of 10 times per turn

  • Rank 2: Limit of 20 times per turn.

    • Rank 3: Limit of 30 times per turn.

Infinite / Near Infinite Calculations crashing the game.

  • We have implemented a two step process here to solve this issue going forwards. We value the stability of Dimensionals and the ability for players to have fun without crashing very highly so we’re approaching this with an immediate fix and a future rework.

    • Step 1This hotfix patch. We are applying a hard limit of 50 procs per skill per turn so nothing can go infinite.
    • Step 2: A future addition that re-works how passive triggers work to help smooth out the insanity that can come from a long chain of events. We’ll address this more in that patch down the road.

  • Refactor of the Prediction System:

    • We’ve done an optimization pass on the skill prediction system to reduce some of the resources needed for calculations which should result, when paired with the limit of 100 above, in reduced calculation times and should prevent most further crashes or softlocks.

Misc Fixes

Fixed an issue where Screamweaver was using the icon for War in some attack forecasting. Fixed an issue where using a Corruption potion against Ragnarath could result in a crash.

  • Fixed an issue where entering battle against a Skitterer could occasionally cause a black screen.
