Survival in Dig Dig Die isn’t just about digging fast and fighting hard — it’s about knowing the hidden mechanics that give you an edge.

Some systems aren’t obvious at first glance. Loot can be smarter than it looks, the graveyard hides more than graves, and even small decisions can change the outcome of a run.

We’ve gathered essential tips to help you plan better, survive longer, and squeeze maximum value out of every expedition.

💡 1. Don’t Throw Away Empty Bottles

Empty healing bottles aren’t useless. After using them, bring them back to the ship and drop them into the chest — you can sell them for extra gold.

Every coin counts during a long expedition.

💡 2. You Don’t Have to Turn In All Loot

Not every item needs to be sold. You can carry loot between levels and keep its bonuses active.

Sometimes holding onto a strong item is smarter than cashing it in.

💡 3. Search the Rooftops

The graveyard hides more than just buried treasure. Some of the best loot isn’t underground — try checking the rooftops.

Look up. Not just down.

💡 4. Bushes Are Your Best Friend

If mobs are chasing you, dive into a bush. It will hide you from pursuit and give you time to recover.

Not every fight has to be won.

💡 5. Arachnophobia Mode Is Available

Not a fan of spiders? There’s an Arachnophobia Mode in the settings.

Survival is scary enough already.

💡 6. You Can Rescue Abducted Teammates

If a UFO grabs your friend, act fast. Run up to them and press E to save them before it’s too late.

Teamwork saves runs.

💡 7. Richer Loot Is Farther From Spawn

The farther you move from spawn, the better the treasures. Plan your loot routes wisely — early zones are safer, distant zones are more profitable.

High risk. High reward.

💡 8. Buffs Stack — Even Identical Ones

Bonuses from items stack together. Even identical items will combine their effects.

Sometimes doubling down is the strongest strategy.

💡 9. Crouching Makes You Harder to Detect

Moving while crouched reduces the chance of being spotted. Slow down and stay low when enemies are nearby.

Stealth can save your life.

💡 10. Spider Webs Alert the Spider

If you step into a web, the spider instantly knows. Webs aren’t just traps — they’re alarms.

Watch your step.
