It's been quite a while since my last update, but I have been hard at work on Dewdrop and I am excited to finally share what is new.

As mentioned in my previous post, much of my focus has been on developing the puzzle mode. Until now, the demo has mainly highlighted the sandbox experience, but that is changing with this update.

Puzzle mode is now available in the demo, with 12 handcrafted levels to play!

These levels are designed to show how the mechanics evolve and become more complex, giving you a solid preview of what to expect in the full game.

New Features

  • Puzzle mode with 12 levels

  • Camera panning and zooming in sandbox

  • Vine and spawner options using middle mouse

    • Change spawner color and rate

    • Disable vines and spawners

    • Adjust vine note and octave

  • Grab vines and spawners while holding Ctrl

  • Trajectory line in sandbox and assisted puzzle mode

  • Difficulty select screen on first puzzle load

  • Welcome and ending screens for the demo

  • Teasers for upcoming full game features

Visual and UI Improvements

  • New shaders for disabled or modified vines

  • Improved background shader rendering

  • Better text visibility, contrast, and colors

  • Vine buttons now match vine colors

  • Enhanced load menu with more save details

  • Confirmation prompts for key UI actions

Options and Accessibility

  • Accessibility options

  • Max FPS setting

  • Keybinding support

Gameplay and Polish

  • Prevent overlapping spawner placement

  • Fixed sharp vine edges while wobbling

  • Major physics improvements and adjustments

  • Removed tint slider

  • Other UI adjustments

Known Issues

  • The sound can cut abruptly for vortexes during level transitions

  • There are graphical artifacts in the background and wall shaders for Nvidia GPUs

That covers the biggest changes in this demo update.

As development continues, the game is getting closer to completion, but I am not ready to announce a release date yet. There are still many features and puzzle mechanics in progress, but I'm still expecting to release this year!

I will be sharing more previews of what is coming next, so keep an eye out for future updates. For now, enjoy solving puzzles and consider joining our official Discord for behind the scenes!
